Our Story
Zama Retailers is a family run, group of companies. Each company is operated as a unique business unit – these units are involved in the energy, hospitality and the commercial farming industries and are based in the greater Newcastle area.
Zama Retailers is a community focussed company, placing great value on customer and community relations. We believe that we are blessed, to be a blessing to others and are conscious of the need in our communities. We strive to make a sustainable difference and bring change where it’s most needed.
Zama Retailers is currently managed by a board of directors with private shareholders and has over 150 employees.
The company was started by the current managing director, Kobus Dippenaar in 1996 when he initially acquired the business rights to Total Osizweni Garage and he has since consolidated the other family business units to form part of a single trading entity known as Zama Retailers. Currently Zama Retailer’s main focus remains in the fuel industry with two, fully operating service stations.
The Dippenaar family are farmers at heart and in 2013 started reinvesting time and money into the farming operations. At present Zama Farming operates across 4 farms in the Newcastle and Normandien areas.
Our hospitality division is headed by Koot Dippenaar, a well known and passionate chef. We’re able to offer everything from daily meals to fully catered weddings on our family farm!
